Teachers face unprecedented challenges.  Many are stretched to the limit, navigating increased workload, curriculum changes, advancing technology, AI, bigger classes, diverse student needs, escalating parental expectations, administrative demands, & workforce shortages.

In class teachers must prioritise curriculum content, and there is little (if any) time to teach broad skills & strategies beyond specific subjects.  Some schools incorporate this into pastoral care, but student engagement is difficult in a non-academic class setting, and the benefits of specialist study workshops are often self-limiting.  Not much can be covered in a few hours and, although content may resonate with students in the moment, after the session worksheets and notes get lost at the bottom of school bags and a minority of students absorb & apply the learnings long term.
